ECG Operation Zero: Protecting Revenue and Ending Dumsor

The ECG Operation Zero app, developed by the Electricity Company of Ghana, aims to address the issue of revenue loss due to consumption abuse. With a focus on combating electricity theft, this app helps identify customers involved in illegal connections, faulty meters, or burnt meters. By either billing these customers for their entire dues or disconnecting their service if payment is not made, the app aims to protect ECG's revenue and ensure the smooth functioning of their operations.

Consumption issues affect around 40% of ECG's customers, causing a significant reduction in revenue. This revenue is crucial for covering operational costs and payments to suppliers, including upstream power suppliers and independent power producers. Failure to secure this revenue can result in frequent power outages, known as "Dumsor" in Ghana. The Operation Zero app is strategically developed to tackle these issues head-on and put an end to Dumsor.

With its user-friendly interface and comprehensive features, the ECG Operation Zero app provides a powerful tool for ECG's revenue protection efforts. By efficiently identifying and addressing consumption abuse, this app contributes to a more efficient and sustainable power supply for Ghana.
